Engineering Team Lead
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Set direction and acquire necessary resources to support a 10–20-person team of design engineers.
- Personnel management that includes providing plans for growth and development of engineering skills and abilities.
- Provide one-on-one mentorship to encourage professional and spiritual development.
- Review engineering calculations, designs, and reports to ensure they are culturally appropriate, sustainable, affordable, and transformational for clients in line with professional guidelines.
- Review engineering production documents and drawings including technical drawings, material specifications, and bills of quantities.
- Assist the design staff to develop concept and detailed designs for national and international clients.
- Ensure engineering design work meets the client’s needs and is completed on time.
- Collaborate with project team to ensure design follows quality assurance, quality control and best practice standards.
- Review engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure compliance with government codes, laws, and regulations.
- Present design explanations in written reports and oral presentations.
- Travel domestically and/or internationally to project sites to collect data, survey, or monitor construction projects. Travel may require overnight stays in basic accommodation, approximately 10-14 days of travel per year is anticipated.
Minimum Education and Work Experience Required:
- Commitment to company mission, vision, and values.
- Honest, high level of trust with good references.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, professional license preferred.
- Proven managerial ability to lead a team of design engineers.
- Proficiency in English.
- Able to work with different types of people in a cross-cultural context.
- Full Time Position Monday – Friday, Hours vary as required by construction schedule
- Based in Phnom Penh

WASH Engineer Intern
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Assist the development of Petram’s water program.
- Provide engineering calculations, designs, drawing documents, and reports for clients in line with professional guidelines.
- Document design calculations and assumptions clearly.
- Prepare construction documents and drawings using computer-aided design (AutoCAD) software.
- Assist the water team to develop concept and detailed design for water treatment plants and water distribution networks.
- Prepare and provide WASH-related trainings to community members.
- Assist in project development of water projects by attending meetings, promoting Petram’s services.
- Train and be trained by local and international design professionals.
- Attend discipleship activities and lead as scheduled.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
Minimum Education and Work Experience Required:
- Committed to company mission, vision, and values.
- Honest, high level of trust with good references.
- A 4th or 5th year student studying Civil/Environmental/Water Engineering or related field.
- Able to assist in WASH training in communities.
- Excellent communicator.
- Able to speak and write proficiently in English and Khmer, on technical topics.
- Able to work in a cross-cultural context.
